Winning Ads credit system
Winning Ads runs on a credit-based system. Every time you generate an ad or use AI to edit an image, it costs credits. This guide covers everything you need to know — what costs credits, how many you get, and how to buy more when you need them.
💡 What Costs a Credit?
Generating and editing ads uses real computing power behind the scenes, so each AI action costs 1 credit:
- Generating 1 ad variation = 1 credit — this includes the Primary Text, Headline, and AI-generated Image, all bundled together as a single generation.
- Editing or regenerating an image = 1 credit — any time you use the AI to modify or regenerate an image, it costs a credit.
What's free:
- Copying ad text to your clipboard — no credit cost.
- Manually editing text by hand — no credit cost.
- Browsing, viewing, or reusing your existing ads — no credit cost.
📋 Monthly Credit Allocations by Plan
Your subscription includes a set number of credits each month:
🔄 How Credit Resets Work
Your monthly credits reset on your billing date each month. For example, if your billing date is March 12th, your credits will reset to your full allocation on April 12th, May 12th, and so on.
Monthly credits do NOT roll over. Any unused monthly credits at the time of your reset are lost. There is no way to bank or accumulate them — so make the most of your credits each cycle.
🟣 Lifetime Credits (Extra Credits)
If you need more credits beyond your monthly allocation, you can purchase Lifetime Credits as a one-time purchase. These are completely separate from your monthly credits and never expire — they persist across billing cycles indefinitely.
You can buy Lifetime Credits here: https://join.winningads.com/extra-ad-credits/
Lifetime Credits are a great option if you regularly run through your monthly allocation or have a busy period coming up (like a product launch or holiday season).
🧮 Which Credits Get Used First?
The system always prioritizes your monthly credits first. Once your monthly credits are fully used up, it automatically dips into your Lifetime Credits.
This means your Lifetime Credits act as a safety net — they only get touched after your monthly allocation is gone.
👥 Team Accounts and Shared Credits
All team members on the same account share a single credit pool. If your Agency account has 200 monthly credits and a teammate uses 50, there are 150 left for everyone else. Keep this in mind when working with a larger team.
📍 Where to Check Your Credit Balance
You can view your current credit balance at any time:
- Click on your Profile settings in the top right corner of your dashboard.
- Go to the Usage tab.
There you will see a full breakdown of your monthly credits, Lifetime Credits, and your next reset date.
❓ Common Questions
Do credits roll over to the next month?
No. Monthly credits reset on your billing date and do not roll over. Any unused monthly credits are lost when the new cycle begins. Lifetime Credits, however, never expire and carry over indefinitely.
What exactly costs a credit?
Two things cost credits: (1) generating a new ad variation (which includes the Primary Text, Headline, and AI-generated Image), and (2) editing or regenerating an image with AI. Copying text, browsing your ads, and making manual text edits are all free.
When do my credits reset?
Your monthly credits reset on your billing date each month. You can check your exact reset date in the Usage tab of your Profile settings.
What are Lifetime Credits and how are they different?
Lifetime Credits are purchased separately as a one-time buy. Unlike monthly credits, they never expire and are not affected by your billing cycle. The system always uses your monthly credits first, only tapping into Lifetime Credits once the monthly ones are gone.
What happens if I run out of credits?
You will not be able to generate new ads or use AI image editing until you either wait for your monthly reset or purchase Lifetime Credits. You can still access your account, view all your existing projects and ads, copy ad text, and make manual text edits.
Why does editing an image cost a credit?
Every AI action — whether it is generating a brand new ad or making a single edit to an image — requires significant computing power from advanced AI models. These processing costs are incurred on our end regardless of whether you end up using the final result. As AI costs decrease over time, we plan to pass those savings on and make the credit system more flexible.
